THE CHURCH IS TRUE

Let's just take a second to recognize that yesterday was absolutely AMAZING. Seriously. AMAZING I SAY. So, here's the deal. Steph and I went down to temple square so we could have the sister missionaries take us on a tour, aka my favorite thing of all time. ANYWAYS. So we're sitting in there waiting for our sisters to come, not gonna lie, I was kinda scared we were gonna get weird missionaries.. I KNOW, I KNOW, I'M AWFUL. But, Jesus loves me, therefore, we got the BEST missionaries on temple square. I'm sure of it. I'm telling you, they were perfect. Sister Nixon (seriously one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen in my life the perfect brown hair, perfect skin, bright blue eyes, yeah. You get the idea) and Sister Tupou (who has the best eyelashes I have ever seen, WITHOUT mascara! Every girl's dream). They're the dream team, those two. Sister Nixon is the more talkative of the two, which isn't really hard considering Sister T doesn't say much! Haha. But it's not like Sister Nixon was annoying or anything, she's like the perfect balance, and she's hysterical so it's all good. I'm not sure how long she's been out.. But she's absolutely amazing. Sister Tupou is seriously the greatest, just still in that new missionary FREAKED OUT state. She's too cute. So anyways. We're walking and talking, kinda in that awkward stage of not knowing what to say to each other. So we make our way over to the first church building that was built, and we went inside and we're talking, no big deal. And then Sister Nixon looks at Steph and says, "So what has Sarah told you about our church?" *cricket cricket* Steph goes, "Not much.." and at that moment I was like well, I might as well just go to hell now. Haha. Sister Nixon looks at me like, seriously?

AWKWARD.

So then we're just walking around, we go to the tabernacle, and then we go to the North Visitor's center, and we go downstairs and then Sister Nixon and Steph were kind of in front and Sister Nixon was explaining stuff and what not. So Sister Tupou and I were behind them just talking and stuff. And she asked me if I wanted to go on a mission, and I said yes of course!:) And she asked me where I wanted to go and all that so I gave her the little ASL shpeel. So then I asked her how long she'd been out and she goes, "A week..." AWW. SHE'S TOO CUTE, OKAY?! Haha and I was like, "Is it scary??" and she says, "Yeah!!" Hahaha oh, bless her sweet little Tongan heart:) So we're just talking, and we catch up to Sister Nixon and Steph, and Sister Nixon was asking her about prayer and all those things, and then Steph looks at me and goes, "Well she's helped me a lot." HEART=MELTED. Sister Tupou just grinned at me, from this point forward, we were best friends:) So we go over to the little Joseph Smith area and we watched the first vision video. And Sister Nixon asked Steph if she believed if that really happened, and she was like, "Yeah. I really do. That just makes sense to me." HALLELUJAH. I was seriously grinning from ear to ear, I probably looked like the biggest loser of all time. Haha. So then we made our way over to the modern prophets section, and Sister Nixon told her about conference, and at this point, she asked Steph if she would meet with the missionaries, and SHE SAID YES!!! She said yes! Oh my gosh. Basically I was dying at this point. So we went upstairs and Sister Nixon was telling us about her cute brother who's a senior this year and she looks at us and goes, "You guys should facebook him." Hahaha!! And we're all kinda cracking up and she goes, "But really.." Haha! Oh. She is too funny. So then we watched this Families are Forever video thing, and after we watched that we walk out and Sister Tupou looks at me and she goes, "Why are you so quiet???" Haha I was like really?? YOU'RE asking me this?? Haha oh, she just kills me! And Sister Nixon was like, "Why are YOU so quiet??" Haha so then we're walking over to go down the stairs and Sister Tupou just puts her arm around me! Like, STOP BEING SO CUTE!!

So we walked all the way down the stairs, and through most of temple square with our arms around each other. Awwwwwwwww! She seriously MELTS MY HEART! <3 <3 <3 So she was asking me about the weather and stuff because she HATES she sun. (Say whaaaaaaat?) But she also hates when it's cold.. Haha. Utah seems like a great place for her, eh?? But she was asking me about the seasons and she was like, "Is it summer?... Does it get hot?... Will the trees have leaves???... What's your favorite American food?" TELL ME SHE IS NOT THE CUTEST THING ON THIS EARTH. We're walking through the South Visitor's Center and Sister T goes, "So do you have a boyfriend?" and I was like lol... "Nope" and she got the most disgusted look on her face and goes, "WHY????" Hahahaha I almost died! So they dropped us off at the temple model and Sister Nixon was gave Steph a handshake and Sister Tupou looks at me and gives me the BIGGEST hug!! I seriously am IN LOVE with her! And Sister Nixon was like, "Yeah.. That was awkward" and then gave both Steph and I hugs.

THEY ARE SERIOUSLY TOO PERFECT. I could not have asked for better missionaries. PERFECT I TELL YOU.

So then Steph and I are walking out to the car and I asked her if she had any questions and she was like, "No... It all just kinda makes sense." IS THAT NOT THE BEST ANSWER THERE IS????? I died again. I am seriously SO excited. But she did ask me one question, which was how do you bear your testimony? And honestly, I don't remember what I said to her, but it wasn't what I was supposed to say, I'll tell ya that right now. Haha so then when I woke up this morning and while I was saying my prayers I had the impression to send her a text.. So I did.

"So, I've just been thinking a lot about the question you asked me yesterday about bearing your testimony, and I didn't answer it very well.
Your testimony is when you testify of your knowledge of Christ, and what you believe. There's no specific way that you have to, or should bear your testimony. One way to find your testimony is bearing it. Expressing to others what you know, and what you believe. When you do this, the spirit of the Lord will confirm the words that you're saying are true. So for example..
I have a testimony of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know that He suffered and died for me, because He loves me, and wants me to return to live with Him and our Heavenly Father. I know that He lives, and is always with me. He has suffered everything that I have, am, and will go through, so that He is able to comfort me perfectly. I know that through His grace and atoning sacrifice, that I may be saved if I try my best and do all that I can here on this earth. I know that I am a member of the one and only true church on the earth. I know that we have a prophet of God, Thomas S. Monson, and we have the great opportunity to hear from him and others tonight, and next weekend. Sometimes it's hard to live the gospel, but I know that it's the best thing there is. I know that if you pray to Heavenly Father, He will answer your prayers. Maybe not in the way, or when you want Him to, but He will never let you down. He is your Father, and He loves YOU. He wants what is best for you, and He and the Savior are always there to help you, all you have to do is ask. I know that if you seek truth, you will find it. I am so grateful for this gospel. Through it I know that pure joy only comes through trials. And I know God will never put us through anything we cannot handle. I know the Book of Mormon is true. There is no way it can't be. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and saw both Him and Jesus Christ. There is nothing on this earth that makes me as happy as the gospel. And I can't wait to serve my mission so that I may be able to share this knowledge with so many others. I love this gospel, Stephanie. There is nothing better. And I say these things, in the name of my brother and Savior, my best friend, and my Redeemer, even the Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen."

xoxo, Sarah
