look up.

There are so many things that I want to write about. Like Breaking Bad (holy moly I'm a little bit addicted), or the fact that I graduate in 9 days. Or the fact that I'm moving in 81 days.

I have 5 million different thoughts, and I'm not quite sure how to follow through with any of them. So much is happening. So many things are ending, and so many new things are just beginning. So um... yeah it'd be safe to say that I'm a little bit overwhelmed. In 19 days, I graduate from high school. On that very same day I find out who my college roommates are. Talk about one door closing and another opening! What. A. Weird. Sensation. [Also The Fault in Our Starts comes out that same day!! :D (if you haven't read it, get out of my life, read it, and then come back and we can go see the movie together)]

A trend I've seen (on social media ironically enough) is that, we, as a society, are addicted to our phones. And I COMPLETELY agree. If you have seen this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7dLU6fk9QY watch it. Then come back and we'll have a chat.

That hit the nail right on the head, didn't it? A generation of smart phones and dumb people.

Let me just be one more person to jump on this bandwagon, but I can honestly say that I hate smart phones and social media. Now, when my older brother got his smart phone, holy moly I was SO jealous. But once I got one, I came to the realization that they're really not all they're cracked up to me.

Why is it that we base our success and how we feel about ourselves from the amount of likes we get on an intsagram picture, or how many favorites a tweet gets? WHO CARES? Now I mean, don't get me wrong, I friggin love smart phones, like google maps is my best friend, but other than that, they just cause a whole bunch of problems.

Which is why I would like to announce (not that you care) that I will be taking a month offline.

Okay, okay. Not a whole month. And not completely offline. STOP JUDGING ME.

So here's the deal: Come June 6th, goodbye to the apps on my phone. No twitter, no intsagram, no facebook. I already deleted tumblr and pinterest after I watched that video for the first time. It felt awesome. No snapchat, and sadly, no 2048.
HOW WILL I LIVE? Obviously I'm kidding, I'm actually pretty stoked.

Now, here's what I CAN do: Take lots of pictures. Yayyyy pictures. Check my email once a day. I've got missionaries and college things to keep up with. Also, I can check the USU incoming freshman facebook page. No, I'm not scrolling through my newsfeed, just seeing if there's anything important. Make videos of fun times in summer, if I feel like it. No promises or anything, but hey, being able to look back on videos is literally the best thing ever. We'll see. But other than that... No social media.

I'm sure it'll be a struggle, but I'm also sure it's going to be amazing to be able to enjoy life and not be worried about how many favorites the tweet I post will get. To be able to spend time with those who mean the most to me, and actually enjoy it.

Cheers to senior summer.

See y'all in a month.
